So, I took this event. I didn't win any price, but 2 of my shot have been chosen for exhibition, together with all winning entries.
You may see my submission in the first 3 exposures in this Album. The first and second are those for exhibition and the 3rd didn't get any merit. The rest of the pictures are just subsequence shoots which doesn't count for submission. I just continue to take picture since I don't want to waste the roll. The location of shot is Little India... one of my favorite place to take pictures.

Posted by yuwono on Feb 16, '07 1:05 PM for everyone | | Usually, while my wife taking our son to school, I spend my time in bed, enjoying lazy Saturday morning. But this time, I joined them. So my wife showed me her favorite eating place, while we were waiting the school over. Yes, its Indian cuisine, at Tekka Market, Little India.
Pardon me for shake and blur... still learning to tamed this camera. Tri-X 400 Film on Tmax Developer and 6 minutes development time.

Posted by yuwono on Feb 11, '07 4:11 AM for everyone | | It was Saturday around 2AM in the morning, but there's no sign of people will leave the place... it always same: shopping, chatting, drinking and playing here at 24HR Mustafa Shopping area, Little India. There is a field and small shops near Lembu Road, also small food court. People gather, and play simple game. I don't know what they call it in Tamil or English, but in Indonesia, we call it "Karambol". Four player, ice hockey in the table, but instead of stick, they use their fingers.
Technical Mambo-jambo: Canonet GIII QL17. Expired Tmax 400 film (Thank to Jaime who gave this for free). 7 minutes agitation on Tmax Developer (1:4 dilution). 5 invert every 30 secs. Scanned at low-res 1.5MP. (Yeah.. I feel like a bartender or even a MacGyver, with all of those chemical...)

Posted by yuwono on Dec 21, '06 9:01 AM for everyone | | One day at Tekka Market, Little India, Singapore. This is my first street photography. Actually I'm not ready yet to take such challenging job. But, when my wife asked me to company her to go this place, I decided to bring my camera along. With wife and kid beside me, somehow, I can take snapshots with ease. I don't know, what will be their reaction when I shot alone.
The market was originally known as Kandang Kerbau (or just KK), Malay for "buffalo pens", referring to the slaughterhouses operating in the area until the 1920s, and the name still lives on in the nearby Kandang Kerbau Women's and Children's Hospital. In Hokkien, the market was known as Tek Kia Kha, literally meaning "foot of the small bamboos", as bamboo plants once grew on the banks of the Rochor Canal. This was adapted into the popular name Tekka Pasar (笛卡巴刹), where pasar is Malay for "market".
